On the Caldwell view, we angle the tube about 15 degrees caudad to place the petrous ridge about 1/3 of the lower orbit, the straight shot will be like the PA skull which will place the petrous ridge filling out the orbits. Since sinuses are the case here, with no tube angulation, wouldn't be the case to tuck in the patient's head instead of up a bit to make up for the straight shot tube and that way place the petrous ridge at 1/3 of the lower orbits? thanks, I love your videos by the way.
for sinuses you don't angle because you are looking for air fluid levels. We have the patient bring head back 15 degrees to put the petrous ridges in lower 1/3 of orbits.
No way! You can’t shield on a woman IVP. Not worth it to clip anything and it won’t cover if you are too low. So are you going to risk clipping the anatomy and retakes or just get it on the first shot. You possibly can shield on male patients.
I made a collection of my usual standard of lumbar spine lateral projections showing the primary beam and without any masking. My kind of radiography doesn't need masking because it uses collimation. ruclips.net/video/255Z8dtPNpk/видео.html
To anybody watching this video hoping to gain insight into the VCUG procedure, this procedure is cruel and has the potential to cause irreparable psychological harm equivalent to a violent rape. The risks are rarely communicated to families and they cannot make informed decisions, but the truth is that this procedure is painful, embarrassing, and can result in severe life-altering trauma.
Im sure you mean well and are technically correct, but the language you use in this video is very disrespectful to the patient. Fill "until their toes curl." Have you had one of these? Do you know how the patient feels? Many in this position feel very vulnerable and may not communicate well. Maybe you didnt really say this. Please let me know if I misunderstood. Also saying "we put towels down to keep (the patient) from making such a mess" sounds so callous. Where in this do you teach how to mitigate the embarrassment feels in this situation? I had this done and had to hear this kind of language. It felt very demeaning. Please take this down and redo it in a way that considers the patient more highly than a dog.
The statement to the toes curl is primarily with children that are to young to tell you the bladder is full. I have done many of these and we are always careful to help with patients modesty. The towels are to prevent them from making so much of a mess that it comes off the table. Every thing done in this procedure is help patient feel comfortable enough while still needing to void on a table with strangers watching taking x-rays. Signs are hung for no one to enter during exam and only necessary people are allowed in room. The description given during video is for students to see the positioning aspects of this procedure and the handling of patient is discussed during lecture in great detail about being professional and making patient as comfortable as possible under the circumstance.
The doctor is referred to as "He". Seriously? I didn't realize that women were no longer allowed to be doctors. Please don't assume and stereotype. Thank you.
The majority of my program was during the peak of covid.. as a new tech (whos rotations were limited AND positioning classes 98% online) i am sooo grateful for these videos
Very good explanation. I went throu 3 kidney procedures and doctor NEVER requested this important test!!!! Today, i am getting one done fir my NEW doctor!
Thanks a lot for your GREAT video. I just want to add one more thing: Please, use a flexible straw. And do NOT touch the tips of the straw (or cup). Or if it fell down on the bed, use a CLEAN straw. We don't like to get sick because of a dirty straw! Thanks
Thanks man

Pretty sure he meant 50 mAs no way you’d shoot a humerus at 500. I’d have shot it at 40mAs with the DR system
Hello, thank you for your hard work. It would be great if you could post a picture of each technique you teach. Thank you for your kindness
What technique would you use.

it was quite informative. cleared my concept. but i think such movements are difficult in shoulder dislocated cases. what to do in that case

Rubbish. Many (if not most) patients that need an axillary view cannot go to 90 degrees as it's too painful.
Dorsiflexion + the center of x ray is on the horizontal line of the medial malleolus
👍
Nice demonstration, is the knee x-ray examination preferred while lying or sitted? that is for AP view
How is that trauma most are in collars
